Artist Empowerment

Hey everyone, this is Barrett. I’m a producer, songwriter, composer and drummer from Los Angeles and I am so excited to finally launch my blog!

You may have heard my productions, songs and drumming on MTV, MTV2, NBC, “America’s Next Top Model,” “Today in L.A.,” Lifetime Channel, and on XM Satellite Radio, among many other TV and radio stations.

I was lucky enough to have performed one of my symphonic compositions “Anahid” at the Hollywood Bowl in front of 16,000 people last year with an accompanying orchestra.

One of my songs, “Goodbye Beautiful Day,” charted at #8 on Yahoo! Music’s Adult Alternative Chart. I was the first ever unsigned producer/songwriter/recording artist to have charted in the Top 10 on Yahoo! Music.

I am currently producing 10 very talented artists, scoring feature as well as short films, writing music for MTV, and we’re in the pre-launch phase of several new rock bands.

I have written several articles about Artist Empowerment on www.hitsdailydouble.com - which is the online version of the music industry’s leading trade magazine.

The purpose of this blog is for me to share insights, knowledge, wisdom and other interesting experiences that I believe will help artists navigate through and find their way in the new music industry.

We are all in this together and I look forward to sharing what I have learned with you guys and learning what I can from what you all have to share!
